DevOps Team Lead

Tel Aviv

Description

OneLayer builds security for private cellular networks. Our product ships in multiple deployment shapes — fully on-prem, fully in the cloud, and hybrid with edge-to-cloud connectivity — which creates a broad and genuinely interesting set of infrastructure challenges.

We are looking for a DevOps Team Lead to own our infrastructure and platforms, and to partner with engineering leads on the tooling and workflows that keep developers productive. The scope of the role covers:

  • Cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP — EKS and the surrounding services (CloudTrail, ALB/NLBs, networking)
  • Application-level infrastructure — observability and alerting stacks
  • Centralized backing services — NATS, Kafka
  • FinOps and cloud cost optimization
  • GitHub Actions workflows that make our developers faster (ephemeral environments, testing infrastructure, release tooling)
  • The guardrails that let us move safely at scale — backups, disaster recovery, SSO, Kyverno policies

A strong DevOps team lead directly shapes how fast the rest of engineering can ship and how reliably we operate at scale. The right candidate drives those outcomes, works as a peer to other engineering leads, and actively improves the developer experience across the company.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience with a strong DevOps and infrastructure focus
  • 2+ years leading an engineering team, including mentorship, planning, and oversight
  • Takes initiative on technical direction — identifies what our infrastructure needs and drives the work through to delivery
  • Track record of operating production systems at scale, with mature incident response practices
  • Broad technical background with a proven ability to quickly pick up new technologies when a problem calls for it
  • Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes in both managed (EKS) and lightweight/on-prem (K3s or similar) environments
  • Solid AWS and GCP experience; Azure or other major clouds a plus
  • Experience designing and operating hybrid infrastructure, ideally including edge-to-cloud connectivity
  • Experience building developer-facing CI/CD tooling, preferably with GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with observability stacks, centralized messaging/streaming (NATS, Kafka, or similar), and Kubernetes policy tooling (Kyverno)
  • Exposure to FinOps practices and a track record of meaningfully reducing cloud spend
  • Strong communication skills — the role works closely with other engineering leads

Note: While certain core technologies are required, we encourage bringing fresh perspectives on tools and approaches that can improve our infrastructure and development workflows.
